Team "Mechanics of Materials and Assemblies"

It combines the research activities ENIB of ENSIETA and UBO in the field of mechanics of materials and assemblies under mechanical quasi-static (eg, monotonic or cyclic) coupled or not to other physical phenomena (eg, thermal, phase change, environment ...).

The MMA team is divided into two groups:

• group Fatigue of Materials and Structures Animated S. Calloch,
• Group Mechanics assemblies led by J.-Y. Cognard.

The main objective of the research activities of the team MMA is to provide tools to design, first, to ensure reliability and durability of structures taking into account the effects of modes of production and / or environmental conditions and, secondly, to optimize the use of materials and structures of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Engineering in particular.

To achieve this goal, the strategies are diverse. Nevertheless, they are all based on the implementation of testing (on specimens and / or structures), development of models with high mechanical content and use of modern simulation tools.
